Gwendolyn -Gwen- Guilfoil, 60, formerly of Jessamine County, formerly of Fayette County, passed away Monday, February 22, 2010. She was a former employee of the University of Kentucky, Diagnostic Radiology Department and a member of the Athens Christian Church. She was an avid animal lover, a friend to many and loved by all. She was the daughter of the late Thomas S. and Irene Bentley Hammons. Survivors include one daughter, Tammie J. Welch and her husband Elwood-Cleveland TN, a granddaughter, Courtney N. Sharp-TN, a grandson, Sgt. Sean S. Cook and his wife Ashley-GA, a sister, Charlotte A. Webb-Nicholasville, a niece Melissa I. McCann-Richmond, three nephews, Tony E. (Karen) Martin Jr.-Lexington, Adam Hammons and Tommy Hammons-OK, a host of friends, neighbors and cousins. Services will be held 11:00am Thursday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-9pm today. Bearers will be Sean Cook Elwood Welch, Jeremy Ramsey, Randy Welch, Bill and Grant Cross.
