Gwendolyn Yates Ferguson

Gwendolyn Yates Ferguson, 70, widow of Terry Boone Ferguson, passed away Friday, July 7, 2023, at Baptist Health Lexington. She was born on February 24, 1953, in Ashland, Kentucky to the late Jack A. and Margaret Berry Yates. Gwen retired from the Jessamine County Board of Education where she worked as a teacher. Survivors include a son, Dr. Kyle Matthew Ferguson, a daughter, Melanie Anne (Gregory) Davis, and five grandchildren, Ryan, Terry, Mark, Graham, and Harrison. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Betts & West Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the Lexington Cemetery. Bearers will be Jan Gould, Bill Jones, Danny Reid, Dr. Gregory Hood, Connor Hood, and Kevin McDonald. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4:00 PM-9:00 PM, Friday, July 14, 2023.
