Hannah Myrtle Frank

April 25, 1930 — September 26, 2024

Nicholasville

Hannah Myrtle Frank of Saint Petersburg, Florida died September 26,2024 at the age of 94 years. She was born to Ivaloo and Horace Day on April 25, 1930, in Piqua, Ohio.

Her family knew her as a wonderful and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was devoted, selfless and kind. She showed her family what faith in the Lord was by her life and example.

She was a blessing to all whose lives she touched. No words can even begin to express her beauty and grace filled spirit. She was an amazing woman who found beauty and calm, amidst the twist and turns of life.

When Hannah was only 10, her own mother passed away, and she became “little mother“ to her three siblings, Helen, Nancy, and Bob. She later said that experience helped develop her nurturing ways. She was raised in a godly, loving home, and she had many stories of a happy childhood.

Though shy by nature, she pushed herself to be active and involved in school, often in leading roles. She was very dedicated in all her schooling, and throughout her life was determined to do well. She excelled in school, was a member of the Glee Club, President of the Art Club, French club, newspaper staff, art staff, Girls Friendship Club, The National Quill and Scroll Honor Society, and The National Honor Society. In high school she entered two poster contests and won both. Art was her passion.

After high school, she and her sisters attended Capital University in Columbus, Ohio and later the Academy for Commercial Art in Cincinnati Ohio. She then worked at Gibson Greeting Cards, as an illustrator. There she met her future husband, Don Frank, who worked in the architectural department. After a 40 Day whirlwind courtship they were married, and were devoted to each other for 63 years. Later, they were blessed with four children.

Hannah enjoyed the experiences and joys that each of her children brought her. She was a devoted and loyal mother. She read Bible stories to her children, helped with schoolwork and art projects, sewed beautiful clothes for her children, encouraged and prayed for them daily. She taught second grade Sunday school for many years. From a den mother in Cub Scouts, to a Bluebird leader for little girls, she was very active in the children’s lives. She was a prayer warrior for her family and friends. Her prayers and faith lead each of her children to become born-again Christians with a deep faith in Jesus.

She loved the hymns, her favorite was “How Great Thou Art“. Her favorite Bible story was of Hannah and the faith she had in the Old Testament. Her mother and father read bible stories often when she was little and likewise, she read them to her children and grandchildren.

In 1972 the family moved from Cincinnati to St. Petersburg, Florida. After being a stay at home mom for many years, she worked as a church secretary, and later sold real estate with her husband in their own real estate company, Waterfront Exclusively. A devoted Christian, she supported ministries and charities. She was an accomplished pianist and artist who painted beautiful watercolors, and found enjoyment painting alongside friends at Maximo Presbyterian church Art Club. She loved hosting family and friends, sewing, cooking, and was an avid reader.

Hannah shared her most important lesson in life as this: “To never give up hope in any circumstance. Always have faith, because God says he will never forsake us.”

Hannah had a quality of innocence and beauty that will surely be missed. The Lord truly blessed us with her. We are ever grateful for such a special gift.

Her children shall rise up and call her blessed… Proverbs 31:28

Surely the Lord has said, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant“ Matthew 25:21
