Hester Harvey

Hester Harvey, 87, devoted mother and grandmother went to be with the Lord and beloved husband Junie on Saturday, May 6th. Hester was born on May 10th , 1929 to the late Cal and Eddie Locker. A lifelong resident of Jessamine County, Hester married Holman Harvey Jr., February 18th 1950. Together they were blessed with a large, loving family including three children, seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Hester was a very kind and caring soul. She gave her life to the Lord April 13, 1986 and was an active member of the Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church. She loved cooking homemade meals with food from her garden. Sunday dinners at Mamaw's house created countless memories her family will always cherish. Hester leaves behind her loving children, Barry Joe and Connie Harvey, Donna and Mike Morgan, Rita and Donnie Welch, seven grandchildren, Joe (Crystal) Harvey, Jason Harvey, Justin (Christina) Harvey, Brett (Naomi) Morgan, Wes (Christy) Morgan, April (Steve) Berry, Michelle (Will) Fite, , thirteen great grandchildren, a sister, Mary Ann Hager, all of whom she adored. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Helen Locker Kanatzar and her brothers, Sam, Oscar and Gilbert Locker. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Thursday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Canada officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Her grandchildren , along with Jan and Johnny Hager, are honored to serve as her pallbearers. Honorary bearers will be her nieces, nephews and her loving caregivers over the last three years.
