Holman Harvey Jr., 83, husband of63 years to Hester Locker Harvey, died November 27, 2013 at his home. He was a member of the Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church and the Bluegrass Horsepuller's Association. He was the son of the late Holman and Lucy Johns Harvey. Additional survivors include three children and their spouses, Barry Joe and Connie Harvey, Donna and Mike Morgan, Rita and Donnie Welch, seven grandchildren, Joe (Crystal) Harvey, Jason (Amy) Harvey, Justin (Christina) Harvey, Brett (Naomi) Morgan, Wes (Christy) Morgan, April (Steve) Berry, Michelle (Will) Fite, , thirteen great grandchildren, two brothers, Jesse (Frankie) Harvey and Harold Harvey, a sister, Virginia (Harold Gene) McFarland and a special sister in law, Dandy Hager. He was preceded in death by brothers, Verlin and Carlie Harvey. Services will be 1:30pm Monday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Jarrell and Micky Stinnett officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-8pm Sunday. His grandchildren will serve as bearers. Honorary bearers will be Johnny, Burch, Mike, Jan and Allen Hager, Daryl and Matthew Kanatzar and Keith Harvey. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Purple team of Hospice of the Bluegrass and to Kathy Hurst. Donations are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
