Howard Stephen Martin

Howard Stephen “Steve” Martin, went to be with the Lord on January 10, 2025 at the age of 81, born on March 8, 1943 in Rockcastle County, Kentucky.

Steve is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Sandy Martin, daughter Kristie Martin Mack, son Seth Martin both of Nicholasville, KY. Steve also leaves behind four grandchildren, Maisie, Jamie, Lyla, and Rex, as well as brothers Anthony Martin and Dwight Martin of Lexington, KY.

Steve was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mildred and Howard Martin, mother-in-law Nana Ratliff, brother Grady Spoonamore, sisters Patricia Stokes and Pam Drury, and son-in-law John Mack.

Steve worked at First Security Bank and Central Bank in Lexington, KY, First National Bank in Nicholasville, KY, owner of Southside Marine for 15 years, and he retired after 24 years as a sales representative with Lawson Products. Steve was also the treasurer at East Hickman Baptist Church for the past four years which gave him great joy.

He leaves behind his close friends, Dave Hovekamp, Paul McKenzie, Willie Huff, and a host of other friends and family.

Visitation will be held at East Hickman Baptist Church on Sunday, January 26, 2025 from 2:00 – 6:00 PM. Funeral service will be held on Monday, January 27, 2025, at 11:00 AM with visitation from 10:00 – 11:00. A private family burial will follow at Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
