James Caywood Cooper

James Caywood Cooper, 59, husband of Carole Lynn Bailey Cooper, of Honeysuckle Ct., Nicholasville, died November 5, 2007. Born in Mason County on January 1, 1948 he was the son of the late Clemin and Mary Florence Wallingford Cooper. He was a honorable discharged veteran of the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy, having served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was retired from Hartland Industries where he worked as a salesman. He was a life member of the DAV and loved golf. Additional survivors include two step-sons, Michael (Melissa) Lightner-Paris and James (Teresa) Lightner-Leesburg, OH, one brother, Ronald J. Cooper-Maysville, five step-grandchildren, Jessica Lynn Lightner, Shelby Lynn Hope Lightner, Taylor James Lighter, Zachery Michael Lightner and Ryan Stillwell White. Services will be held at 12:30 PM Thursday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Sholar officiating. Burial will follow in Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Bearers will be Michael Lightner, James Lightner, Randy Bailey, Al Gates, Frank Tripett. Visitation will be 10:30 AM until time of service Thursday. Contributions are sugested to the American Heart Association.
