James E. Wilmot

James E. Wilmot, 90, husband of Jane D. Wilmot, of Nicholasville, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2024. James was born in Stanford, Kentucky on June 5, 1933, to the late John James and Katie Frances Gooch Wilmot. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and was retired from the University of Kentucky, where he worked as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the Nicholasville United Methodist Church. James loved to travel and camp with his wife Jane, and his friends and family. James and Jane had been happily married for 51 years. He is survived by his two sons, John James (Debbie) Wilmot, and Ralph Edward (Julie) Wilmot, one daughter, Michelle Mae (David) Conrad, six grandchildren, Elizabeth (George) Myers, Amanda (Bruce) Satterlee, Angela Wilmot, Amber (Daniel) Santi, James Lovato, and James (Christina) Wilmot, and eleven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Stockdale, and daughter, Alvenia Wilmot, and three sisters.

Services will be held at 1:00 PM, January 11, 2024, at Betts & West Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Thompson officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until time of service on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Lexington Cemetery.
