James Earl 'Coach Jimmy' Greer, age 66, husband of Ingrid Garceia Baldridge Greer, passed away October 2, 2015. He was born on December 24, 1948 in Jessamine County to the late Amos Elzie and Martha Ellen Merriman Greer. James was a retired custodian for Jessamine County Schools. He was a past assistant for Jessamine County High Schools in Football, Basketball and Baseball, a member of Troy Presbyterian Church and a huge sports fan especially the UK Wildcats and the Cleveland Browns. He also enjoyed fishing. James is survived by two children Kevin (Lisa) Greer and Janel (Rudy) Sandlin, two step sons Jeremy Lane and Josh (Christina) Lane, grandchildren Nicholas and Carter Greer and Gage and Kallie Sandlin, step grandchildren, Abbie Lane, Autumn Coleman and Evey Lane, siblings Gary (Rhonda) Greer, Wilma (Roger) Noe, Peggy (Danny) Callico, Sharon Brown, Lois (Steve) Riley and Connie Greer and special friends Pat McIntyre and Mike Antrobus. James was also preceded in death by one brother in law Bill Brown. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Wednesday at the Southland Christian Church with Reverend David Duggan officiating. Burial will follow in Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Bearers will be Jeffrey Brown, Jason Hamilton, Glenn Crabtree, Will Webb, Cody Noe, Michael Richardson, Benjamin Lenhart and Daniel Sandlin. Honorary Bearers will be Gary Greer, Pat McIntyre, Mike Antrobus, Jay Buffin, Don Jaeger, Bill Sandlin, Dean Geary, Danny Callico, Roger Noe and former and current Jessamine County/ West Jessamine County basketball and football coaches and players.
