James Leslie Lear

November 11, 1937 — November 6, 2013

James Leslie Lear, 75, widower of Wilma Jean Lear, died Wednesday, November 6, 2013. He was a retired employee of IBM, a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, an avid fisherman and U.K. fan, coached youth football, played football at Versailles High School and loved being with his family. Survivors include his children Rebecca Lear Drury and Kevin (Linda) Lear, five grandchildren, Jason McLean (Amy) Drury, Candice Michelle (Eldon) Cheek, John Henderson Drury, Laura Alyse Lear and Hannah Elizabeth Lear, three great grandchildren, Terri Lynn Drury, Lee McLean Drury and Charles McLean Cheek and a sister, Beuna 'Boots' Woolums. He was preceded in death by a brother, David B. Lear. Services will be 10:30am Saturday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Pastor DeWayne Brewer officiating. Burial will be in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5-8pm Friday. Bearers will be Jason and John Drury, Michael Lear, Ben hall, Steve Woolums and Dan Spanish. Honorary bearers will be Eldon Cheek, Glenn Guy, Lonnie Lee Spaulding, John Ingram, Candice Cheek, Laura and Hannah Lear, Terry Lynn Drury, Lee Drury and Charles Cheek.
