Jane Alderson White

Jane Alderson White, 89, died on Saturday, March 21 at Holloway Cottage, Wesley Village, Wilmore KY following a long illness. She was born on February 28, 1926 in Glasgow, KY. Her parents, Rev. Thomas and Vera Alderson were residents Nicholasville KY for more than 30 years. She graduated with distinction from Transylvania College in 1947. She was married to Rev. Bobby Lynn White on March 17, 1947 and shared with him in a supportive role as a pastor's spouse during their 54 years of marriage. When early retirement brought them to Nicholasville KY in 1981, she served for several years as church secretary and bookkeeper at Nicholasville Christian Church. She served for several years as a volunteer at the Jessamine County Library and at the Wesley Village Library. She was also a gifted artist, pianist and quilter. Her greatest joy was in her family. She is survived by three children and their spouses: Lynn (Sylvia) White, Fort Worth, TX; David (Sarah) White, Hermitage, TN; Carol (Carl) Silvey, Nicholasville KY; grandchildren Jeff (Shawna) White, Tessa White, Paula White; John (Kristin) Silvey, Laura Silvey; and great-grandson Christian Silvey. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 1:00 PM at Nicholasville Christian Church, 2nd and Maple Streets, Nicholasville. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until the time of service and at a reception immediately following the service.
