Jane Ethington Johns

Jane Ethington Johns, age 80, widow of Arby Johns, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at Baptist Health Lexington. She was born in Woodford County on September 20, 1941, to the late Cecil Ethington and Florence Short Ethington. She was a hardworking family woman, working as the CEO for Jessamine First Federal Bank for many years. Jane is survived by her sons, Donald Johns and Ronald Johns (Leslie); sisters, Mary Kaye Moore (Joe), Irene Moss, and Betty Ann Adams (Don); grandchildren, Suzanne Watts (Steve), John Moore Sr., and Bradley Johns; great-grandchildren, Travis Meador, John Moore Jr., and Carly Moore; as well as great-great-grandchildren, Jeremiah Meador and Jacob Meador. She is preceded only by her husband, Arby Johns, and her parents, Cecil and Florence. Services will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, July 15, at Betts & West Funeral Home, with Pastor Steve Gray officiating. Services will stream live on the Betts & West Facebook page. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. Casket bearers will be John Moore Sr, Bradley Johns, Steve Watts, Cecil Moss, Patrick Moore, and Scott Moore. Visitation will be the evening prior, on Thursday from 4:00 – 7:00 PM, at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to go to Bluegrass Care Navigators.
