Jane Yeary Simpson "Moma Jane"

Jane Yeary Simpson -Moma Jane-, 82, widow of Robert Flournoy Simpson Jr. -Big Daddy-, , died Wednesday, July 7, 2010. Jane was born July 16, 1927 in Nashville TN to the late Singleton Joseph and Alta Jarratt Yeary. She was a member of the Linda Simpson Circle and the Nicholasville Presbyterian Church, and most recently received a Lifetime Honorary Membership by the Presbyterian Women-s Society . She was a former Hospice volunteer and a former member of the Jessamine County Fair Board. Moma Jane loved being a farmer-s wife and mother where her kitchen was always open to family and friends for great food and fellowship. Survivors are her children, Robert Flournoy (Edwina) Simpson III of Hickman; S. Garry (Virginia J.) Simpson and Taylor (Vickie) Simpson of Jessamine County; Alta Simpson Marshall and Sue Simpson (Kevin) Mims of Fayette County, sixteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and other family members. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday at Nicholasville Presbyterian Church with Rev. Pamela C. Rucker officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 pm at Betts & West Funeral Home. Bearers will be Flournoy Simpson IV, Jeremy Simpson, Seth Marshall, Keene Simpson, Joe, Harrison and Jake Mims. Contributions are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass or the Nicholasville Presbyterian Church. The family wishes to give special thanks to the numerous friends who throughout mother-s illness continued to shower her with love, visits and cards. Also, many special thanks to the wonderful and loving staff at Wesley Village for the amazing care and devotion extended to our mother and family throughout her residency.
