Jimmy Partin

September 23, 1942 — January 4, 2010

Jimmy Partin, 67, husband of Alice Johnson Partin for forty eight years, died Monday, January 4, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. He retired from Cracker Barrel and then joined the staff of Wilmore Elementary where he thoroughly enjoyed his work. Jimmy was in the first graduating class of Jessamine County High School and also graduated with honors from the University of Kentucky. Additional survivors are his children, Laurie Sherfey, Greg Partin and his girlfriend, Becky and Marcia (Charley) Hager all of Nicholasville, ten grandchildren, Tony, Tara, Hannah, Tyler, Allison, Kyle, Daniel, Brittany, Jasmine and Ethan, two step grandchildren, Tabitha and Brian, one great grandchild Dakota and one special brother in law, Ralph (Janice) Johnson of Lexington. Services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Becknell officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 4:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Bearers will be Harry Lewis, Chris Wittenburg, Ralph Johnson, Jay Buffin, Steve Sandburg and Dustin Givens.
