Joe Meredith Buckley, 76, husband of Vicki Sue Cox Buckley, passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at Harrodsburg Health and Rehabilitation. He was born in Burgin, Kentucky, on November 25, 1947, to the late Albert Buckley and Amanda Cheatham Buckley. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, having served in Vietnam. Joe worked for many years as a machine operator for Sargent & Greenleaf and Stanley. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 48 years, Vicki; son, Chuck Taylor (Angie); daughters, Ashley Meredith Buckley, Laura Elizabeth Buckley Marcum, and Leslie Nicole Buckley Jones; brothers, Albert Buckley (Priscilla), and David Buckley; sisters, Shirley Sallee (Jim), and Judy Yount (Gary); as well as grandchildren, John Paul Marcum, Madison Grace Marcum, Courtney Cornish, Isabella Nicole Jones, and Christopher Ryan Cunningham. He is preceded in death by three siblings, Helen Madden, Bobby Buckley, and Janice Faye Sallee. Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at Betts & West Funeral Home with Tim Cross officiating. Burial and Military Honors will follow at Camp Nelson National Cemetery, where family and friends will serve as bearers. Visitation will be held the evening prior, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM, Tuesday, at the funeral home. Betts & West is honored to serve Joe and the Buckley family in their time of need.
