John Ellis Stucky, 88, widower of Wanda Mae Whitmore Stucky, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Wesley Village in Wilmore, KY. He was born in Weirton, West Virginia on May 28, 1935, to the late John H. Stucky and Pearl Bland Stucky. He grew up in Navarre, OH and before graduating from Wilmington College, he married his high school sweetheart Wanda. They raised three boys and were married for 65 years. He retired from the Ford Motor Company where he worked in quality control. He was a long time Browns, Indians and Ohio State fan. He valued his family, especially time spent with grandkids. He served many years at St John United Church of Christ in Bolivar, OH. He is survived by sons, John (Corky) of Atlanta, GA; David (Pam) of Issaquah, WA; Steve (Gloria) of Wilmore, KY; brother, Richard Stucky (Sandy); grandchildren, Hallie, Hannah, Amanda (Jesse) Orloff, Sam (Lindsey), Sarah, and Ally; as well as 5 great-grandchildren, and former daughter-in-law, Gloria Lester. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM, Saturday, November 11, at Wesley Village in Wilmore, KY. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until the time of service. The Stucky's want to thank Hospice of the Bluegrass and especially Wesley Village for the loving care they have given their parents and ask that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to Wesley Village.
