John Michael Hager, 35, son of Johnny and Donna Hager, died Monday, November 9, 2009 from injuries sustained in an accident. He was a 1993 graduate of Jessamine County High School and attended Lexington Community College. He was a member of the Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church. John Michael loved the outdoors and had recently begun writing songs and singing. Additional survivors include a sister, Anna Hughes and her partner Jerry Ensor, a brother and his fianc-e, Aaron Hager and Karen Gillispie, maternal grandmother, Gertrude Mulcahy, paternal grandmother, Mary Anna Hager, aunts and uncles, Jan (Mike) Hager, Burch (Debbie) Hager and Terry Hager, a nephew, Willie Cheek, a niece Aly Hughes, a special cousin, Hope Hager and other cousins, Karen, Vance, Valerie, Misty and Josh. He was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Charles Mulcahy, paternal grandfather, Bob Hager and an aunt, Brenda Hager and a special friend, Nolie Blakeman. Services will be 2:00pm Friday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Rev. Sean Shroll officiating and burial in Hager Cemetery. Bearers will be Aaron Hager, Willie Cheek, Greg Stinnett, Vance Hager, Josh Hager, Terry Hager, Burch Hager, Mike Hager and Jack Cooper. Honorary bearers will be Johnny Dale Hager, Friends of the Jessamine Co. Detention Center, Tommy Gill, Donnie Welch and Lawrence Taylor.
