Johnnie M. Burdine, 89, widower of Lorene Cobb Burdine, died March 1, 2011. Hhe was a charter member of Edgewood Baptist Church active in several offices, a retired employee of the VA Hospital after thirty plus years, veteran of WWII and was a Mason. Survivors are two children, Jerry Burdine of Garrard County and Carol (Bob) Burdine Hayes of NC, two grandchildren, Melanie and Jennifer Hayes, four step grandchildren, Frank and Brian Rice, Terry Dunn and Lindsey Moore, several great grandchildren, two brothers, Clifford Burdine of KS and Aubrey Burdine of Nicholasville. Services will be 11:00am Monday March 7, 2011 at Edgewood Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Sholar officiating. Burial will follow in the Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 4:00 until 8:00pm and from 1:00 until 5:00pm Sunday. Bearers will be Brad Jones, Hugh (Nookie) Stotts, Bennie Rainwater, Steve Rainwater, John Berryman and James Berryman. Honorary bearers will be his Sunday School Class, Jim Bishop, John Byars, Ray Bradshaw and Jerry York. Donations are suggested to the Edgewood Baptist Church.
