Joyce Ellen Lowery Hurt

Nicholasville-Joyce Ellen Lowery Hurt, 62, widow of Donald W. Hurt, died unexpectedly, Thursday, December, 6, 2007 at Central Baptist Hospital. Born October 27, 1945 she was the daughter of the late Thomas Sanford and Elva Bea Corman Lowery. She was a member and treasurer of Mt. Beulah United Methodist Church, member of the Jessamine County Homemakers and a volunteered for the Jessamine County Fair. Joyce won many awards for her canning and crafts. She was also known for her flower garden, cooking and caring for others. She is survived by two sons, Clinton Welch (Diane) Hurt and Michael Thomas (Julia) Hurt, a grandson, Clinton Welch (Jaime) Hurt II, a granddaughter, Ursula Natasha Hurt, two sisters, Nancy (Donald) Hicks and Hazel (Wayne) Saylor, a father-in-law and his wife, Mike and Louise Hurt, and a brother-in-law, Marion Williams. She was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Williams and a brother, Timmy Lowery. Services will be 2:30 PM Monday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Agnew and Bro. John Carroll officiating. Burial to follow in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Bearers will be John Cobb, Duke Hager, John Holderman, Shelby and Steve Williams, John Nichols, Brandon and Thomas Aaron Lowery. Honorary Bearers will be Charles Preston, Bobby Webb and Roy B.
