Joyce Fern Hatfield

Joyce Fern Hatfield, 89, widow of Jess Lloyd Hatfield, passed away Monday, May 29, 2023, at her home in Nicholasville. She was born in Bell County on November 1, 1933, to the late Otis Wilder and Pearlie Jones Wilder. Joyce is survived by her son, David Hatfield (Mary); daughters, DeAnda Wagers (John), Denise Fain (Doug), Dolores Simpson (Rodney), Diana Hatfield (Scotty Richardson), and Christy Thompson; as well as fifteen grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Jess, she is preceded in death by three siblings. Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, June 2, at Betts & West Funeral Home with Brother Ben Cordes officiating. Burial will follow at Bluegrass Memorial Gardens, where family and friends will serve as bearers. Visitation will be held the evening prior, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM, Thursday, at the funeral home.
