Juanita Haydon Baker, 93, widow of John A. Baker III, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at her home on Catnip Hill Road in Jessamine County. She was born on September 6, 1929, in Jessamine County, to the late Frank Haydon and Alma Madge Farra. She was a member of the Nicholasville Baptist Church. Juanita is survived by her sons, Stephen Whitfield Baker, Kenneth Neal Baker (Debra), and Henry Cassell Baker; brothers, James Haydon (Nadine), and Gibbs Haydon (Judy); grandchildren, Sarah Whitney Cox, Mary Elizabeth Smith, Cree Butler, Keenon Hulton, and Caleb Baker; as well as great-grandchildren, Olivia Cox, Allison Cox, Porter Butler, Alexander Smith, Eliza Jane Smith, Harvey Smith, Nora Kate Smith, Rory Hulton, Darcy Hulton, and Ruby Hulton. In addition to her husband, John, she is preceded by siblings, Marjorie Martin, Frank Cassell Haydon, Thomas Haydon, and Bobby Haydon. Services will be held at 12:00 PM, Monday, October 17, at Betts & West Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Lexington Cemetery, with family and friends serving as bearers. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service, Monday, at the funeral home. Betts & West is honored to serve the Baker family in their time of need.
