Julian (Goodie) Short

Julian 'Goody' Short, 80, husband of 57 years to Patsy Royalty Short, died March 20, 2014. He was retired from the KY State Highway Department after 34 years of service and was a lifelong farmer. He was born July 25, 1933 in Pollard to the late Herman and Margaret Hager Short. He is also survived by four children, Mark Short, Karen Berry, Clyda Cambron and her husband Steve 'Buck' Cambron and Robin Johns, eight grandchildren, Chris and Ryan Short, Jake and Sarah Berry, Jessica (Andrew) Ludwig, Sammy Jo (Nick) Russell, Amy Johns and John Tyler Nicholson, four great grandchildren, Emma and Sonni Cash, Addi Berry and Austin Short. He has two grandchildren waiting on him in Heaven, Luke Berry and Matt Johns, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Sondra Carpenter and a brother, Harold Short. Services will be 1:00pm Monday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Rev. Lee Baltzer officiating. Burial will be in the Wade Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-8pm Sunday. Bearers will be Danny Carpenter, Lyndon Peel, Jake Berry, Chris Short, Jimmy Peel and Bobby Watts. Honorary bearers will be Benny Peel, Monte Carpenter, Roland Burton and Charlie Hager.
