L. D. Casey

Nicholasville-L.D. Casey, 86, beloved husband of Mary Jean Casey, of Churchill Crossings, passed away November 16, 2010 at Central Baptist Hospital. L.D. fought a brave battle with cancer for ten years but died from complications from pneumonia. He served in the Merchant Marine during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Lexington. He retired from Beatrice Foods and A.J. Seibert Co. Mr. Casey was born December 30, 1923 to Herbert and Farrie Casey in Garrard County. In addition to his wife he is survived by his sons, Larry and Michal Casey of Lexington, a daughter, Marydeth Hackworth of Nicholasville, six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren, a brother, Everett Casey of Lancaster. Services will be 1:30pm at Betts & West Funeral Home with Rev. Earl W. Thomas and Bro. Ron Harpe. Burial will be in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6-8pm today.
