Larry Dean Cornett

Larry Dean Cornett, 79, widower of Linda Dale Shields Cornett, passed Tuesday, July 11, 2017. He was born March 14, 1938 in Harlan County to the late James and Alma Howard Cornett. Larry was a member of the Apostolic Church in Jesus Name, liked to collect knives and walking canes, and was a avid UK basketball fan. Family survivors are two daughters, Laura (Mark) Reynolds, and Adrian (Olivares) Arguello, a son, Joey (Margaret) Shields, three step children, Wesley (Brenda) Gorman, James Gorman, and Debbie (Terry) Taulbee, four grandchildren, Natalie Reynolds, Raelea Shields, Amayia Arguello, and Milania Arguello, numerous step grandchildren, six siblings, Fay (Glenn) Curry, Helen Ahlgrim, Phillip (Faye M.) Cornett, Eddie Cornett, Don Cornett, and Wade (Pat) Cornett, and other family members. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Otis Cornett and Dennis Cornett. Service will be 2:00 PM Monday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Bishop David Marsee officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Bearers will be Joey Shields, Kevin Curry, Jessey Taulbee, Terry Taulbee, Gene Fuller, and James Gorman.
