Lavonne Carol "Bonnie" Walker

Lavonne Carol (Bonnie) Walker, 87, passed away on Friday, August 26th, 2022, at Bridgepoint in Nicholasville, KY. Bonnie was born on December 18th, 1934 to Eck and Elma Gardner. She was the valedictorian of her graduating class and went on to marry Billy Walker. They had two daughters, Donna and Vicki. Bonnie was a hard worker both inside and outside of her home. She had multiple jobs over the years including the telephone company, the cafeteria at Warner Elementary, and briefly opened a shop with her daughter Vicki. She was an industrious person by nature and always gave her all to any task. However, her family was the recipient of her greatest efforts and attention. She was a member of the Nicholasville Church of Christ and her faith was something she held dear. She was an avid reader, lifelong learner, amazing cook, and loved to be outside in her garden.
Besides her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband Billy Walker, and son-in-law, Gary Abshear. Left to honor her memory are her daughters Donna Abshear & Vicki (David) Maggard, grandchildren Brian & Leah Maggard, and Jaime (Adam) Brumfield & April Abshear Thomas, great-grandchildren Alden and Kerrigan Maggard, and her brother Bill Gardner.
Services for Bonnie will be held on Thursday, September 1st at Betts & West Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9-11 AM with the service to follow officiated by Lee Hagewood. Burial will be at Bluegrass Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass. Many thanks go out to those who cared for Bonnie at Bridgepoint, the kindness and care she received will never be forgotten.
