Leola Joyce Floyd Denton

August 14, 1941 — January 14, 2013

Leola Joyce Floyd Denton, 71, wife of George Thomas Denton, died Monday, January 14, 2013 at her home. She was the daughter of the late William Bill and Minnie Beatrice Gill Floyd. She was a member of Providence Christian Church, a school bus driver for over 25 years and loved to travel especially to the Smokey Mountains. Additional survivors are a son, George William (Kimberly) Denton, two grandchildren, MaKayla and Chad Denton, nine siblings, Louise Land, Betty (Charlie) Reynolds, Barbara Murphy, Jimmy (Anna Belle) Floyd, Billy (Anna 'Twinkie) Floyd, Bobby Floyd, Judy Hager, Beatrice Gayle Floyd (David) Cheek, Rickey Floyd and numerous other family members and friends. She was also preceded in death by three siblings, Chester and Harold Floyd and Helen Dvorak. Services will be 1:00 pm Thursday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Sholar officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 until 9:00 pm at the funeral home. Bearers will be Terry, Shane and Paul Floyd, Dallas Murphy, Alan Pitney and Dale Cuzick. Contributions suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass. Online guestbook at www.Betts&Westfuneralhome.com
