Leonard 'Dickie' Rankin, 85, husband of Helen Frances Wells Rankin, passed away Monday, January 26, 2015. He was born on June 15, 1929 in Bourbon County, Kentucky to the late A.T. and Edith Mildred Rankin. Leonard was a retired Glazier and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He was a member of the VFW, the local Glazier Union #1701 and enjoyed fishing, watching UK Basketball and the Cincinnati Reds. Leonard is survived by three children, Kaye (Charlie) Floyd, William (Linda) Rankin and Richard (Brandy) Rankin, five grandchildren, Anthony (Amy) Rankin, Morgan and Nathan Rankin, Kevin (Jessica) Floyd and Melanie (Stacy) Simpson, seven great grandchildren, Rylee, Madison and Lilah Rankin, Kate and Brantley Simpson and Bryce and Josie Floyd. Leonard is also survived by one aunt, Alma Dee Kearns and other family member to mourn his passing. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, George William Rankin. Funeral service will be conducted at 1PM Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Betts & West Funeral Home with Dr. Carl Peters officiating. Private family burial at a later date. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Casket bearers will be Anthony, Morgan and Nathan Rankin, Kevin Floyd, Stacy Simpson, Tony Blackburn and Bronce Hager.
