Lewis Edward Mulcahy

Lewis Edward Mulcahy, 96, husband of Dorothy Welch Mulcahy for seventy one years, died Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at his home. He was born April 10, 1919 in Jessamine County to the late Edward and Fannie Peel Mulcahy. Lewis was a member of Little Hickman Christian Church, a retired mail carrier, drinking water hauler and farmer. He also liked to help people and woodwork. Additional family survivors are a son, Roy (Mary Lou Wiley) Mulcahy, three grandchildren, Kenton Edward (Katie) Mulcahy, Daniel Charles (Lindsey) Mulcahy and Michael Wayne (Paige) Mulcahy and other family members. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert L. Mulcahy. Service will be 10:30 Monday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Rev. Lee Baltzer and Rev. Bobby Becknell officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. There is no visitation. Bearers will be Robbie L. Mulcahy, Bruce Edward Mulcahy, J.F. Hall, Gary Tipton, Barry Welch and Ricky Mulcahy. Honorary Bearers will be Creed Johns, James Merida, Tommy Cox, Bob Hays, Cecil Curtsinger, Howard Downing, Doug Downing and Mark Burton. Contributions suggested to Little Hickman Christian Church.
