Lloyd E. Brogle Jr., 84, beloved husband of sixty two years to Nancy C. Brogle, died at his home on May 1st. He was the son of Lloyd E. Brogle Sr. and Lena S. Brogle. He was a member of Jessamine Christian Church and The Seekers Sunday School class, a US Navy veteran of World War II where he achieved the rank of Seaman First Class and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, European Campaign Medal, Pacific Campaign Medal and World War II Victory Medal. He attended Transylvania College and taught school in 1948 and -49. He retired after 28 years from the US Postal Service and was an avid sports fan. He loved bowling on the Senior League for the last 12 years. He is also survived by his daughters, Donna (Larry) Harrison-Berea, Virginia (Don) Wayne-Nicholasville, Gwen (Joe) Henson-Nicholasville and Pamela (Bob) MacLeod-Santa Barbara, CA, six grandchildren, Laura (John) Wooten-Berea, Keith (Allison) Harrison-Berea, Michael (Jennifer) Wayne-Nicholasville, Stephen (Lindsay) Wayne-Murfreesboro, TN, Kayla and Macy Henson-Nicholasville, five great grandchildren, a sister Carrie Jane (Nelson) Foster-Nicholasville. Services will be 1:00pm, Wednesday May 4th at Jessamine Christian Church with Rev. Phil Richardson and Rev. Rob Clark officiating. Burial will follow in the Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-8pm Tuesday and from Noon-1:00 Wednesday at the church. Bearers will be Larry Harrison, Don Wayne, Joe Henson, Keith Harrison, Michael and Stephen Wayne and John Wooten. Honorary bearers will be members of The Seekers Sunday School Class. Memorial contributions suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass or Jessamine Christian Church.
