Lonnie D. Bruner, Sr., 78, widower of Lena Hazel Bruner, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2022. He was born in Fayette County on June 10, 1944, to the late Tommie Bruner and Roxie Hoover. He attended the Apostolic Fellowship Holiness Church. Lonnie is survived by his sons, Lonnie D. Bruner Jr. (Sally), Charles Bruner (Ashlee), and Jeffrey Bruner (Kim Graham); daughter, Carolyn Proffitt (Timothy); twenty grandchildren; as well as numerous great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lena; son, Timothy Bruner; six siblings; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Services will be at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, August 9, at Betts & West Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. Bearers will be Tyler Proffitt, Lonnie Bruner Jr., Danny Mastin, Gilbert Graham Jr., Lonnie Gabriel Bruner, and William Mastin. Visitation will be the evening prior, from 5:00 – 9:00 PM, Monday, at the funeral home. Betts & West is honored to serve the Bruner family in their time of need.
