Louise Land

Louise Land, 90, widow of Walter Land, passed away Thursday, May 18, 2023, at Baptist Health Lexington. She was born in Garrard County on October 26, 1932, to the late Bill Floyd and Beatrice Gill Floyd. Louise was a member of the Nicholasville Baptist Church and was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother to so many. She is survived by her son, Hugh Douglas Land; daughters, Linda Sue Wright (Michael Ray), Pamela Tudor (David Middle Brooks), Sonya Colleen Land, and Angela Louise Land; brothers, Billy Neal Floyd, Bobby Dale Floyd, and Ricky Norris Floyd; sisters, Barbara Murphy and Gayle Cheek; as well as seven grandchildren, and twenty-four great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Walter, she is preceded by a son, William Danny Land; and siblings, Chester Floyd, Harold Floyd, Jimmy Floyd, Judy Hager, Joyce Denton, Betty Reynolds, and Helen Dvorak. Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, May 22, at Betts & West Funeral Home with Pastor Dallas Murphy officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, where bearers will be Billy Floyd, Bobby Floyd, Ricky Floyd, Chase Hagan, Douglas Land Jr., and Martin Bowman.
