Lt. Col. James C Routt

Lt. Col. James C. Routt, 90, entered eternity Wed, May 27. Born in Ottawa Canada, Jim grew up in Kentucky attending UK-s school of business. He left UK to defend his country in 1942 becoming a B-25 pilot in Stockton, CA flying over 30 missions in China during WWII also serving in the Korean War. He returned to UK to graduate in 1948 and took up residence in Indiana where he worked for Allison-s later becoming a realtor with Atkinson & Co. He was a member of the Indianapolis Association of Realtors, Sigma Chi, Optimist Club, and Epworth Methodist. His wife of 66 years, Annette, preceded him in death one year ago. Jim is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Svendsen (Fishers, IN) and Beverly Nickels (Lexington, KY), 5 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at the Betts & West Funeral Home at 10 am Monday June 1 service to follow at 11 am. Military services and burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.
