Lucille Burton Hughes

Lucille Burton Hughes, 89, widow of Russell Hughes, died Saturday, September 24, 2011. She was born March 3, 1922 in Jessamine County to the late Tom and Drew Ward Burton. She was a member of Logana Baptist Church. Survivors are two children, Norma Jean Carl, Barbara (Wayne) Brooks of Nicholasville, two grandchildren, Barbie (Gerald) Abney of Nicholasville, Junior (Julie) Brooks of FL, three great grandchildren, Chris (Amanda) Carl, Angela and Matthew Abney, one great great grandchild, Bailey Carl, all of Nicholasville and other family members. She was also preceded in death by a son, Austin Hughes and several brothers and sisters. Services will be 11:00 am Wednesday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Family members will serve as bearers.
