Luke Collins, 84, loving husband of 41 years to Wanda Ritchie Collins, died Friday, February 20, 2009. Luke was born January 31, 1925 in Jessamine County to the late David Campbell and Pearl Munson Collins. He was a builder, member of Nicholasville Christian Church where he was a member of the choir, member of the Antique Car Club, a avid golfer and lover of Big Band Music. Additional survivors are a daughter, Charlotte Sue Allen-London, a son, Gregory Allen Collins-Nicholasville, three grandchildren, Ashley Merritt (James) Edwards-London, Candace Michele Collins-Wilmore and Bethany Camille Allen-London, two great granddaughters, Hannah Makayla Edwards-London and Savannah Faith Collins-Wilmore, two sisters, Nancy (Lloyd) Brogle and Sue Ann Dean-Nicholasville, special niece, Joyce Faye Housh-Maysville, special friend-Janet Collins-Wilmore and other family members. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Juanita Burgin and Lucille Collinsworth and four brothers, J.T. Collins, David Collins Jr., Robert and Perry Collins. Services will be 2:00pm Monday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Mandrell and Rev. Bob Mallory officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8pm today. Bearers will be Frank Keller, Sid East, Terry McFarland, Bill Baker, Dwight Willis and Terry Lunsford. Honorary bearers will be his nephews, Skip Graff, Lloyd Brogle, Men-s Bible Class of Nicholasville Christian Church, Howard Downing, William Arvin and Alvin Underwood.
