Lyman Blakeman

Lyman Blakeman, 85, husband of thirty years to Ruby Blakeman, passed away Tuesday April 13, 2010 at St. Joseph Jessamine Hospital. He was a farmer and a retired furniture maker. Mr. Blakeman was born in Jessamine County on December 10, 1924, son of the late Thomas and Alma Baker Blakeman. Additional survivors include his children, Chris (Lori) Hughes of Lincoln County, Lyman Blakeman Jr. of Jessamine County and Dawn Blakeman and partner Kristin Robles of Jessamine County, four granddaughters, Aly Hughes, Alena Blakeman, Nevaeh Blakeman and Jaqualyn Baker, two grandsons, Chestan Baker and Steven Robles, a sister Mary Helen Gray and a brother, Howard Blakeman, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by ten siblings. Services will be 10:30am Saturday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Pastor Frank Smith officiating. Visitation will be from 6-9pm Friday. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Bearers will be his nephews and great nephews.
