Mabel Simpson Burdine

Mabel Simpson Burdine, 85, died August 15, 2008. She was born June 26, 1923 in Maulden, KY to the late Mark and Cora Ward Simpson. Mabel was a retired bookkeeper for P. Edward Villeminot Jewelers. Survivors are two daughters, Susie Cummins and Janet (Don Jr.) Kiser, a grandchild, Matthew D. Simpson, all of Lexington and other family members. She was also preceded in death by a son, Mark Burdine. Services will be 2:00pm Tuesday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Rev. T. David Redish officiating with burial to follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00pm Monday at the funeral home. Bearers will be Ed Cummins, Matthew Simpson, Randy, Mark and David Travis and Gary Burdine. Honorary Bearers will be Bob Cobb, Lewis Brashear, Ira Brashear and Karl Lee.
