Margaret Harris Brumfield

Margaret Harris Brumfield, 90, died January 6, 2011 at Central Baptist Hospital. A native of Jessamine County, she had resided at Sayre Christian Village for the last four years. She was born March 23, 1920 to Clyde and Elizabeth Brumfield who preceded her in death as did her brothers, J.S., Clyde B. 'Jack' and Douglas Brumfield and a sister, Virginia Brumfield. She is survived by her sisters Nona Brumfield Suell and Elizabeth (Libby) Brumfield, both of Lexington, nieces Betty Shearer-Nicholasville, Mary Lynn Hensley-Waxhaw, NC, Nancy Brumfield-Kent, WA as well as a great niece and nephew and two great, great nephews. Margaret was a graduate of Nicholasville High School and Fugazzi Business College. She had a long secretarial career at Jessamine County Extension Service, Jessamine County Clerk-s Office and retired from the University of Kentucky Extension Service after a 37 year career there. She was a member of the Nicholasville Methodist Church. Services will be 11:00am Monday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Rev. Laura Beach officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00-3:00pm Sunday. Bearers will be Jim Ed Shearer, Greg Cathey, Howard Downing, David West, John West and Mark Landis.
