Marietta C. Houp

Marietta C. Houp, 78, widow of Junior F. Houp of Cypress Street, died November 19, 2008 after a lenghtly illness. She was a member of High Bridge Church of God. She was born May 15, 1930, daughter of the late Sprout and Mary Horton. Survivors include six children, Roger -Rusty- Houp, Gary Lee Houp, Darrell Wesley Houp, Marty Elbert Houp, Mitzy Houp and Toby Houp, ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two brothers, Ronnie and Bobby Horton, a sister, Joyce Abrams, many other relatives. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Georgia Lorainne Houp and two granddaughters, Pearl Lynn Houp and Vanessa Tonya Leann Houp. Services will be 10:30am Saturday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Bro Leonard Fitch and Bro. Ronnie Horton. Burial will follow in Shawnee Run Cemetery. Bearers will be Robert Farris Houp, Toby, Jerry and Kevin Houp, Charlie and Joshua Woosley, Jared Houp and David Wayne Lay. Honorary bearers will be Roger Wayne Houp, Gary Lee Houp, Darrell Wesley Houp, Marty Houp, Ronnie and Bobby Horton, Richard Horton, Otis Johnson, Derek Lee Gibson, Victor Whitaker and James Fox.
