Mary E. Watkins Cobb

April 25, 1914 — August 9, 2017

Mary E. Watkins Cobb, 103, widow of Charles R. Watkins and Price Cobb went to be with the Lord on August 9, 2017. She was born Mary Elizabeth Williams on April 25, 1914 to Henry and Celia Scott Williams. She retired from Montgomery Ward and was a Founding Member of the Nicholasville Church of the Nazarene. Mary was a great mother, house wife, fantastic cook, a role model and cherished wife. She greeted everyone with a smile and was always upbeat. Her comments on weight gain to family members were always comical. She lived a very long fulfilled happy life and will be dearly missed. Her Spirit was of Faith in God, Love of Family and Laughter! Survivors include her son, Lloyd B Watkins and his wife, Peggy, a sister, Ruth (Wayne) Johns and a brother, Henry Milton (Louise) Williams, grandchildren, Christy M. Richie, John Burnside, great-grandchildren, Morgan, Makayla, Madison, Maci Richie and Devon, Andie, and Zane Burnside. She was preceded in death by a son that she raised Charles 'Kenny' Williams, sisters, Joe (Curtis) Cobb and Gertrude Williams, brothers, Estel (Mary) Williams, and Calvin Williams. Special thanks to Wanda Privett, Ruth Johns and Brenda Brumfield for their help during last few years. Funeral Services will be 3:00 PM on Saturday at Betts & West Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Casket Bearers will be Robert and Roy Williams, Gary Johns, Brent Richie, John Burnside, Allen Williams, and Charlie Woodward.
