Mary Elizabeth Fain, 104, widow of Joseph Lee Fain, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2024, after a short stay at Sayre Christian Village in Lexington, Kentucky. She was born in Jessamine County on July 29, 1920, to the late Calvin Scott and Leila Estes Scott. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Lexington for 56 years. She is survived by her nephew, Gene (Dodie) Hutchison; nieces, Lynn (Paul) Garrod, and Debra (Donald) Corn; cousin, Lloyd (Peggy) Watkins; and a host of other family members and friends to mourn her passing. Services will be held at 12:00 PM, Tuesday, November 5, at Betts & West Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Herriford, Pastor Joe Cooper, and Pastor Ronnie Hupp officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, where bearers will be Lloyd Watkins, Paul Garrod, Brian Cobb, Bob Clark, and Lance Hurst. Serving as honorary bearers will be Arthur Abshire, Joe Essenbock, Mike Meadows, Steve Smith, Donald Corn, and Gene Hutchison. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service, Tuesday, at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to go to the American Cancer Society (PO Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741) or to the First Christian Church of Lexington (1305 Audubon Ave, Lexington, KY 40503).
