Mary Hope Hager

May 7, 1975 — October 15, 2011

Nicholasville-Mary Hope Hager, 36, loving daughter of Jan and Mike Hager, passed away suddenly on October 15, 2011. Hope was a barber at High Acres Barber Shop in Lexington and was a proud member of Bethel Christian Church, she was a 1993 graduate of Jessamine County High School and later from Bailey Barber College. Hope had served as President of Jessamine County FFA and enjoyed singing, cooking, spending time with family and friends, going to her church, spending time at the beach and Sunday afternoons at the pool. Hope was always active in the Hickman Creek Coon Club benefits with her special desserts and loved to inspire people with her quotes on facebook. Additional survivors include her maternal grandmother, Mary Anna 'Dandy' Hager, her paternal grandmother, Mary Welch Evans, her aunts and uncles, Johnny and Donna Hager, Terry Hager, Burch and Debbie Hager, cousins, Anna and Aly Hughes, Willie Cheek, Karen, Rachael, Vance, Vickie, Caleb, Tucker, Misty, Josh and Aaron Hager, Karen Gillispie, Savannah and Wes Adkins, Tyler Murphy, Beverly Miller, Mary Grace Wade and Amy Blackford, her special friends, Jack and Pattie Cooper as well as many other special family and friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Bob Hager, and aunt, Brenda Hager, cousins, Michael Hager and Valerie Adkins and a special friend, Nolie Blakeman. Services will be 1:30pm Thursday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Bales and Micky Stinnett officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-9pm Tuesday and Wednesday, October 18 and 19, 2011. Bearers will be Jack Cooper as well as her uncles and cousins. Honorary bearers will be her aunts and cousins as well as Pattie Cooper, Wayne Stinnett, fellow employees at High Acres Barber Shop, Tony Mason and the YaYa Club, (Jimmy and Maggie Jasper, Vance Drakeford, Justin Martin, Karen Hager and Rachael Hager).
