Mattie B. Peel

Nicholasville-Mattie B. Peel, a retired hairdresser, passed away April 1, 2010 at Sayre Christian Village Nursing Home. She was born January 29, 1917 to Morris J. and Olive Peel. She was a hairdresser for more than 50 years and a member of the Christian Church. Survivors include two sisters, Oneida (Welch) Cassity of Lexington and Pauline (Gilbert) Brooks of Jessamine County, tow nieces, Marsha Ruth Cassity and Lucia Ann Cassity of Lexington, three nephews, Bernard Brooks of Lancaster, Donald L. Brooks of Jessamine Co. and Jimmie J. Peel of Nicholasville. A private burial was held in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Nicholasville. A memorial service celebrating Mattie-s life will be held Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 2:00pm at Friendship Towers, Sayre Christian Village, 580 Greenfield Drive in Lexington with Sherwood Evans officiating.
