Melvin Leroy Beasley Jr., 68, loving husband of Doris Darlene Goforth Beasley for 44 years, passed peacefully at VA Hospital on October 9, 2017. He was born in Versailles, Kentucky on March 23, 1949, the son of the late Melvin Leroy and Edna Louise Walker Beasley. Melvin was a Sgt. in the U.S. Marine Corps serving in Vietnam, Owner of B & B Bait and Tackle, past volunteer Fire Fighter for The City of Nicholasville and Jessamine County Fire Department and a past Member of Truth and Faith Church of God. Additional survivors include his children, Debbie (Dwayne) Bates, Donna (Jeremy) Smith, Melvin (Denna) Howard, Lisa (John) Minke and Becky (Tim) Livesay, eighteen grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and three sisters, Bonnie (George) Burton, Jeanie (Harold) Falin and Joyce Haddix. He is preceded in death by a sister and two brothers. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM. Friday, October 13, 2017 at Betts & West Funeral Home with Rev. Kenny King officiating. Interment will be in the Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Bearers will be Dwayne Bates, Michael Bates, Tom Hager, Jeremy Smith, Jesse Smith, Melvin Howard, Danny Tankersley, Charlie Horn, Mike Gullette and Richie Horn. Honorary Bearers will be Grandchildren, Great-grandchildren and
