Muriel Lee Farley Morris, 78, widow of Daniel Lee Morris, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Nicholasville Health and Rehab in Nicholasville, Kentucky. She was born on June 12, 1945, in Mingo County, West Virginia, to the late Edgar Farley and Anna Marie Napier Farley. Muriel was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church and worked at the VA Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. She also worked for Malone and Hyde Distribution Company for many years.
She is survived by a son Edward Farley (Marla) Morris, two daughters Anna Margaret (Billy) Haas and Dannia Lee (Steve) Scoggins, sister, Wilberta Justice, thirteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and special niece, Angie (Jamie) Bloom. In addition to her husband, Daniel, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Katherine Marcum.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Edgewood Baptist Church with Pastors Steve Sholar and Steve Gray officiating. Interment will follow in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens, where pallbearers will be Bradley Craycraft, Ryan Morris, Steven Scoggins, Travis Scoggins, Brandon Scoggins, Eli Morris, Tristan Haas, and Terry Richardson. Honorary bearers will be Edward Morris, Steve Sholar, Billy Haas, Steve Scoggins, Jamie Bloom, J.F. Hall, and Chris Cherven. Visitation will be held the evening prior, from 5 – 9 PM, Wednesday, June 5, at the church. In honor of Muriel and her love for UK Basketball, the family asks that visitors wear UK Blue on the evening of visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to go to the Edgewood Baptist Church building fund or Bluegrass Care Navigators.
