Nancy Karen Lewis

Nancy Karen Lewis, 52, left this life behind on Friday, May 16, 2008 due to ovarian cancer. She leaves behind a loving husband, Karl Schill, a son, Joe Anderson, two stepdaughters, Katie and Ellyn Schill. Nancy was also blessed with a daughter in law, Robyn Gridley Anderson and two grandchildren, Brennan Kale and Rebekah Lynn Anderson. Nancy is the middle child of Bruce and Laferne Lewis, deceased. Her brothers and sisters are Donna Lewis, Bruce A. (Bobbie Gayle) Lewis, Larry Lewis and Glenda (Joe) Ortiz. Laura Stapleton, Sharon Lewis and Marlene Cox were brought into the family by marriage and are still considered sisters. Many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews complete her supportive and loving family. Nancy also had the good fortune to have wonderful friends at home and across many states. They are too numerous to mention here - you know who you are and you know how she feels. Nursing was Nancy-s calling. She graduated from EKU-s Nursing Program in 1981 and was well challenged by the many opportunities this career provided. Thanks and praise to everyone at Hospice Care Plus in Madison County, UK Med Center and Markey Cancer Center. Dr. DePriest and his staff were compassionate and loving in their treatment. Words alone cannot express the gratitude Nancy and her family have for these professionals. Services will be 5:00 PM Monday at Betts & West Funeral Home.
