Nellie York Shackelford

Nellie York Shackelford, 98, widow of Luther Shackelford, formerly of Wilmore, died Saturday, August 26, 2017. She was born in Jackson County, Kentucky on August 22, 1919, one of fifteen children to Robert Boyd and Virginia Frances Crank York. Nellie attended Mt. Freedom Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She is survived by her brother, Jerry York of Nicholasville and other family members. She was preceded in death by a son, Gary Lee Shackelford and several brothers and sisters. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Rev. David Woitier officiating. Burial will be in the Wilmore Cemetery.
