Paul Dean Locker

Paul Dean Locker, 77, husband of Shirley Marie Curtsinger Locker for 56 years, died Wednesday, April 15, 2009. A native of Jessamine County, he was born to the late Walter Eddie and Laura Burdine Locker. He was a veteran of the US Army and worked at Keller Motors for many years. He was an avid pipe smoker for many years, who smoked in many pipe smoking contest. In 2001, he won the KY State Championship for pipe smoking at the State Fair. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, a son, Eddy Dean (Sharon) Locker, and two daughters, Pauletta (Gary) Embry and Laura (Darrell) Mink and a special nephew, C.J. (Terri) Curtsinger. He was Grand Poppy to 5 grandchildren, Chad Embry, Lori Embry (Bo Nease), Paul (Jennifer) Locker, Joe (Trish) Locker and Tabatha Mink. He was blessed with 8 great grandchildren, Braden Embry, Addie Nease, Jennie, Cassie, Jimmie Dean Locker, Patrick, Micah and Vernon Locker. He is also survived by three sisters, Pauline Hager, Pansey Hurt and Ruth Preston all of Nicholasville and Jessamine County. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Bill Locker and Stern Comley and two sisters, Rena Carter and Geneva Fain. Paul was -Uncle- to many nieces and nephews. Services will be Saturday at 10:30 AM, at Betts & West Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Moore, Rev. Tim Price and Rev. Benny Pivonka officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Bearers will be Joe Locker, Paul Locker, Chad Embry, Juan Davis, Gary Embry, C.J. Curtsinger, and William Anthony Hager. Honorary bearers will be Jimmy Welch, Danny Preston, Allen Hager, William Hager and Gary Curd, John Curtsinger, Jason Curtsinger and Lee Davis.
