Robert Dewayne Jenkins

Robert Dewayne Jenkins, 71, widower of Dorothy Jean Simms Jenkins, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2023, at the University of Kentucky Hospital. He was born in Irvine, Kentucky, on March 23, 1952, to the late Stanley Jenkins and Ruth Bingham Jenkins. Robert was a truck driver for many years. He is survived by his sons, Jeff (Betty) Jenkins, Todd (Karen) Jenkins, Kenneth Edward (Lisa) Scott, and Bruce Scott; daughter, Sherry (Joe) Johnson; as well as sixteen grandchildren and several great and great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; son, Calvin Jenkins; daughter-in-law, Roberta Scott; four brothers; three sisters; and one grandchild. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 26, at Betts & West Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Bishop officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery where family and friends will serve as bearers. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service, Thursday, at the funeral home.
