Nicholasville-Robert Vance Drakeford, 62, husband of Judy Collins Drakeford, died suddenly at his home on Saturday, October 17, 2009. He was born in Lexington, and raised in Mercer and Jessamine Counties. He was preceded in death by his father, Vance H. Drakeford. Additional survivors include his mother, Rena (Don) Drakeford Warren, his children, Vance H. Drakeford, Michael (Patty) Johns, Sherrie (David) Bullock, grandchildren, Shire, Mikeh and Maxx Johns, Olivia and Elizabeth Bullock, Megan and Samantha Johnson, brothers, Woody (Delly), John (Rose) and Jerry (Sonia) Drakeford, numerous other family and friends. He was a graduate of Jessamine County High School and was a Private in the United States Army Reserve. He was formerly a lineman at Bluegrass RECC, owner of Jim Joe-s Tire Service and Partner, Realtor and Auctioneer at Dennis King Real Estate and Auctioneers. Services will be 1:00pm Thursday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Brother Dewayne Brewer officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-9pm Wednesday and from noon until 1:00pm. Bearers will be Woody, John, Jerry, Wendell and Kevin Drakeford, Michael and Maxx Johns, David Bullock and Ronnie Collins. Honorary bearers will be Jerry Abshear, Monte Carpenter, Harold Burrus, Dennis King, Joe Scott, Chris Clark, Billy Links, Kevin Corman, J.R.
