Roger Alfred Chrismon

December 25, 1921 — December 30, 2008

Roger Chrismon, 87, husband of Yvonne Smith Chrismon for 56 years, died December 30, 2008. He was a native of North Carolina, son of the late Frank and Lana Apple Chrismon. Roger was a retired employee of American Tobacco Co. where he worked for 35 years, a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Edgewood Baptist Chruch. Additional survivors include three daughters, Frankie (Scott) Ward-CO, Amy (Mike) Bishop-Nicholasville, Becky (Larry) Gaffney-Lexington, seven grandchildren, Elizabeth (Bart) Johnson, Megan (Stephen) Carter, Rebecca and Lydia bishop, Christinie, Sarah and J.B. Ward, three great grandchildren, a sister, Jeanetta French-NC, two dear friends, Ottis Bishop and Wilburn Merrick. Services will be 10:30am Saturday, January 3, 2009 at Betts & West Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Sholar officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8pm Friday. Bearers will be Stephen Carter, Bart Johnson, Jake Green, Wilburn Merrick, J.B. Ward and Mike Bishop.
